A medieval drawstring pouch in suede and vegetable-tanned leather - pattern, cutting lines and the full build video. A round suede body, a tooled veg-tan front panel, and a leather lace closure. It hangs off a belt, it carries coins, and it swallows a full set of polyhedral dice without complaint.
Two pieces only, so it is a short build: Part A is the round body, Part B the front panel. The pattern prints at 1:1 on A4 and carries a printed scale bar, so you can check your printer has not shrunk anything before you put a knife to leather.
Leather and materials
Roughly 0.06 m² (93 sq in) in total. 2 mm / 5 oz suede for Part A, 2.5 mm / 6 oz vegetable-tanned leather for Part B. A 5-6 mm cotton cord for the drawstring, 0.8-1 mm thread for the stitching, plus dye, wax and neatsfoot oil for the finish.
Tools
Utility or X-Acto knife, beveler, groover, 5 mm round punch, 4 mm diamond chisel, mallet, two needles and a cotton dauber. Nothing exotic - if you already own a basic leatherworking kit, you have everything.
Skill level
Beginner to intermediate. Everything is saddle-stitched, so if pulling two needles through the same hole is new to you, start here.
